To achieve the community’s long-term goal of “Improved household living standard ensuring a safe environment, quality education, mother & child nutrition, health, safe water, and sanitation by 2025 in Wazirpur Upazila,” Area Program has been making significant headway in tandem with the Center for Rural Services Society-CRSS(PNGO).

The objective “Increase nutritional status of children aged 0-59 months” was met by implementing several Health & Nutrition Technical Program. There are 43.23% (131 out of 303) children who gain adequate (≥900g) and average weight at 3 months (PD Hearth database FY 23).

The EDU&CP TP focused on the holistic development of children ages 3 to 5 using Learning Roots interventions, which would ultimately contribute to SDG-4’s goal of ensuring quality education. 266 LR children graduated from 21 LR centers. A total of 420 LR children participated in the program to better themselves in every way possible. AP also formed 6 Impact+ groups and 15 LSBE groups in the AP working area and all the groups are functional in the community level.

NCESP TP’s primary objective is to “ensure that communities are enabled to take responsibility for the purpose of safeguarding the well-being of children,” the Area Program strongly emphasizes community participation and empowerment. 100% of the programs were cantered on advocacy and were cooperatively implemented with local-level partners such as VDCs, local governments, and local non-governmental organizations with the goal of providing excellent programming. After all these steps, people feel confident in managing the common plan for their communities’ welfare. 100% VDC is fully functional and contributes to organizing the nutrition program at LR center, conducting CLM on a regular basis, and sharing the findings to recover the gaps that are ultimately contributing to the positive change of the vulnerable children.
