Grihayon Program

Background

The country’s poor, helpless people especially the rural poor, victims of river erosion, floods, cyclones, and tidal waves live a subhuman life due to a lack of habitable houses. It is very difficult for the underprivileged population to raise the one-time necessary funds to build a house as per the minimum requirement. In this context, the Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina launched the Housing Fund Program, a project of her own brainchild, to build housing for poverty-stricken rural homeless families, implemented through the listed NGOs/organizations of the Housing Fund Loan Program Fund. Apart from the construction of houses for the poor people of the country, the Housing Fund has taken steps to construct hostels/dormitories for the accommodation of workers working in garments and EPZs. Successful implementation of all these activities will play a supporting role in mainstreaming the underprivileged population of the society to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 2030 of the government.

The goal of the Project

“Ensuring housing for all homeless people in the country.”

Objective of the project

  • Provide housing loan facilities to the marginal poor people in the rural areas.
